The vicMIC M4 is a compact microphone solution for applications where reliable speech intelligibility is crucial despite high levels of ambient noise. The four-channel microphone array, measuring just 50 × 50 mm, can be integrated flush and almost invisibly into the headliner, dashboard or other surfaces.

Easily replace existing microphones — unlock new applications

Thanks to its analog audio interface, the vicMIC M4 can replace conventional EMC or gooseneck microphones wherever clear voice transmission and effective noise suppression are required.

Alternatively, the Micro-USB interface enables both power supply and digital audio transmission. This allows the microphone to be integrated into systems that previously did not include a traditional audio interface.

Targeted voice recording rather than distracting background noise

Depending on the application, the directional pattern can be specifically adjusted. A cardioid directional pattern (‘beam’), for example, is suitable for hands-free applications in the cockpit. A disc-shaped directional pattern offers advantages in applications such as emergency call boxes, barriers or vending machines.

Sound from outside the defined pickup range is effectively suppressed. The result: significantly improved speech intelligibility, even in the presence of loud or fluctuating ambient noise.

Greater robustness and design flexibility

Unlike traditional gooseneck microphones, the vicMIC M4 has no protruding or moving parts. This not only improves ergonomics and design flexibility, but also enhances robustness and service life – a crucial advantage in demanding automotive and infrastructure applications.

The vicPURE framework’s integrated algorithms perform powerful noise cancellation directly within the microphone. Furthermore, the system enables dynamic speaker tracking: the relevant speaker can be automatically focused on without the need to physically reposition the microphone.

Additional options for diagnosis and monitoring

For diagnostic and monitoring tasks, speech and background noise can be streamed separately and simultaneously via USB. This provides additional audio data for analysis, system monitoring and further applications.
